Course 2020-100 : Marine Facility Security Officer

Target customers: Marine facility personnel formally identified by the operator as security officer of the marine facility to assume its security responsibilities.

Goals: Understand the roles and responsibilities of the marine facility security officer with respect to security and acquire the knowledge required to act in this capacity.

Contents: All the training elements required by the regulations are covered and the following topics are prioritized:

Operator responsibilities, marine facility security officer roles and responsibilities, security officer responsibilities, assessments and security checks (audits), security plan, recourse in the event of breaches, drills and training, access control and surveillance procedures, security passes and clearances, record keeping, Marsec level changes, communications, crisis management and contingency planning.

Terms

  • Duration: three days (21 hours).
  • Supporting documents for each participant.
  • Minimum of 4 people and maximum of 10.
  • Certificate of successful training (exam with pass mark).
  • Training on work location where possible.
  • For logistical purposes, lunches are usually included in the training package as well as beverages during coffee breaks.

As the needs vary according to the particularities of each client, a meeting or a telephone discussion is necessary to clarify the details and figure out an overall cost for the project. It is understood that, when necessary, travel and accommodation costs as well as room and equipment rental will be established in advance.
