Course 2020-140 : Training of marine facility personnel having security responsibilities

Target customers: Security officers, foremen, superintendents and supervisors on the marine facilities, directors and other representatives of the operator of a marine facility, administrative staff assigned to the awarding of contracts related to security, the persons responsible for the planning and movement of cargo or containers, those who process security clearance applications or who have access to lists of passengers or crew members, those who, in their attribution, may be involved in the implementation of preventive or recovery measures following an accident.

Goals: Understand how to group and coordinate security critical items into a Security Program to facilitate the management and planning of security activities and to maximize the use of human and financial resources during its implementation.

Contents: All the training elements required by the regulations are covered and the following themes are prioritized:

Responsibilities of security officers, access control procedures and monitoring, security passes and clearances, record keeping, Marsec level changes, applicable methods and techniques to detect and counter security threats, inspections and security.

Terms

  • Duration: one day (7 hours);
  • Minimum of 6 people and maximum of 12;
  • Certificate of successful training (exam with passing mark);
  • Operational reference tools;
  • Training on the work location when possible;
  • For logistical purposes, lunches are usually included in the training package as well as beverages during coffee breaks.

It is understood that, when necessary, travel and accommodation costs as well as room and equipment rental will be established in advance.
